A new consumer survey from the American Gaming Association (AGA) shows that more Americans than ever are engaging with legal gambling in 2025. The annual survey found that casino visitation surpassed 50% for the first time, with approximately 134 million people making a trip to a casino over the past year.

The average age of casino visitors has also dropped sharply, from 51.3 years old in 2019 to 42.4 years old in 2025. 77% of Americans view having gambling in their state as a positive, citing its role in driving economic activity and creating jobs.
In terms of sports betting, 78% of Americans see it as a form of entertainment, and 74% support having a legal, regulated industry. At least 90% prefer legal online gambling sites, though the survey noted ongoing challenges in identifying whether a platform is legitimate. Additionally, 70% of Americans believe gambling-related advertising is conducted responsibly.
Talking about the survey results, AGA President and CEO Bill Miller said that they reflect “strong consumer confidence in a state-regulated market as a safe and trusted form of entertainment.”
